Here's the description from her store:
Solid 22k gold earrings based on an ancient Roman design. I alloy my own gold mixture, the way the ancients made gold. Pure 24k gold is mixed with a very small amount of other metals to make it malleable and slightly less soft, while still retaining its beautiful, brilliant, yellow color. I draw out wire and mill sheet from this mixture. Days are spent making the tiny granules that are fused to the piece without solder. The gold domes are fabricated separately and soldered in place. A labor intensive, but very rewarding process!
Simple ear wires are fabricated from 20k gold, which is stronger and well suited for findings.
Two Akoya cultured saltwater pearls hang from each earring. There is no industry standard for grading, but these were graded AA+ based on GIA standards by a graduate gemologist certified in pearls. Along with the pearls, melon cut Aquamarine beads are hung from each earring.
Signed on the back.
