In thinking about my love of gemstones and creating jewelry using them as anchors, I decided I should try to educate myself as much as possible. Where better to learn than at the top gemological school around- The Gemological Institute of America? Given that I live nowhere near a GIA campus, I enrolled in the graduate gemologist distance education program. I've finished the two basic courses- Diamond Essentials and Colored Stone Essentials- with 100's on all my exams and finals. Once I get through our move next month I'll get a start on the "real" coursework. I'm excited!
A little bit about me. I'm an Army brat that's finally somewhat settled after a childhood spent....everywhere. We just moved to Upstate South Carolina, and I've got to say, I love it here!
